It is gratifying to note that the Hon’ble Chief Minister has exhibited his commitment towards development of Farm Sector particularly farmers by declaring 981 Mandals in the State as Drought affected. We are hopeful that the Chief Minister will ensure initiation of all follow up actions to extend relief and provide rehabilitation to the farmers affected by drought. |

The Hon’ble Chief Minister is aware that farmers seldom obtain Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Paddy in the name of quality and grading etc. In the absence of adequate storage and pledge loan facilities in the market yards the farmers are resorting for distress sale. |

In this context Federation of Farmers Associations (FFA) with a view to obtain remunerative prices by farmers, created awareness on processing and Value Addition of Paddy by milling into rice. Accordingly farmers formed into Farmers Clubs, milled their Paddy into rice and trying to supply to Food Corporation of India (FCI). |

In this context the FCI is insisting production of 6 certificates for procuring rice from Farmers / Farmers Clubs. A copy of the letter received by Dhanya Lakshmi Farmers Mutually Aided Multi Purpose Co-operative Society Limited, Nellore, in the matter, is herewith enclosed for ready reference. |

The Hon’ble Chief Minister will agree with us that it is a herculean task for the farmers and farmers clubs for obtaining such certificates from the departments concerned. It appears that all conditions applicable to Rice Mills and Traders are applied to farmers and farmers clubs. The conditions imposed for procuring rice from farmers and farmers clubs will create innumerable problems to farmers and farmers clubs. |

In view of the above we request the Hon’ble Chief Minister to review the situation and issue orders for facilitating farmers and farmers clubs to supply rice to FCI depending on the certificate issued by Village Secretary / Agricultural Officer / Sarpanch of Village on the cultivation of Paddy based on the extent of land recorded in the Pattadar Passbooks / Adangals. |

We request for an early action in the matter to enable farmers to obtain remunerative prices. |
