Dear Shri. Anand Ji,

UNION BUDGET- 2009-2010
FARMERS & INDUSTRY JOINT EFFORTS
On 1st June 2009 Shri. Pranab Mukharjee, Union Finance Minister held 2009-2010 Pre-Budget discussions with Industry & Farmers. The industry suggested initiatives in Agriculture, so also farmers suggested increased involvement of Industry in agriculture.
Farmers and industry are permanently interdependent. India with 600 million small farmers cannot achieve growth without sustainable agriculture by utilizing technologies, mechanization & marketing linkages & also policies of free market, increased role of private sector.
In 2003 Shri. Tarun Das Ji, visualized a National Alliance between the farmers & industry, which culminated in INDIAN FARMERS & INDUSTRY ALLIENCE (IFIA). In 2004 & 05 it organized programmes for sensitizing MPs, Bio Technology propagation & tax concessions.
To over come present financial crises, malnutrition, rural unrest and stagnated growth, Farmers & Industry need to work together with present Government for achieving growth of 4% in agriculture. It is possible by including the following in 2009-10 Union Budget. REFORMS-in-FINANCIAL -TAXES - POLICIES. (Details enclosed) & (available in www.indianfarmers.org')
We are organizing farmers delegations to meet important policy makers, including Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, Dr. Manmohan Singh ji, Shri, Sharad Pawar ji and Shri. Rahul Gandhi ji to impress upon the need for including our demands.
As of 2009, CIFA has connectivity with many farmers associations in states including Tamilandu, Karnataka, Punjab, Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh. Our farmer leaders have accessibility to the Cabinet Ministers and MPs.
We are mobilizing these leaders to converse at New Delhi and lobby.
We request you (your association) to join in our endeavor for achieving common goals.
Awaiting for your early reply,
Yours Sincerely,
P. Chengal Reddy,
Secretary General.
