  CIFA Organizes 5th National Farmers Conclave in New Delhi, from 11th-12th, Dec 2008

The 5th National Farmers Conclave by CIFA assumes great significance due to many recent develoments including World food crisis; unabated suicides of farmers in India; diverting land for SEZs;Production of bio fuels; migration and social unrest etc.CIFA has taken challenging task of bringing together all the stake holders to overcome the challenges and build a strong agricultural economy.The 5th National Farmers Conclave will bring together Political leaders, policy makers, scientists, industry, experts and farmers' leaders to evolve plans, policies and programmes.The 5th National Farmers Conclave will bring together Political leaders, policy makers, scientists, industry, experts and farmers' leaders to evolve plans, policies and programmes. CIFA will prepare a Charter of Demands to be placed before the Union Government for inclusion in the 2009-10 Annul Plan and Union Budget. Delegates from International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP); the President of AGRICORD of Europe; and representatives from FAO; support organisations like Agriterra of Netherlands; and representatives from WB; IMF and other allied institutions will participate.
